Can anyone get a ToKpay card?arrow

Yes! Both foreigners and Korean nationals who have an overseas bank account are eligible.
(You can top up your wallet in KRW from an overseas account.)

Can I get a card without a passport?arrow

No. A passport is required.
You must submit your passport information in the ToKpay app during sign-up.
After registration, you can link your card number and start using it.

What are the steps to start using the card?arrow

After receiving your card, sign up in the ToKpay app by registering your passport information and email.
Then link your card number and top up your wallet (the card-linked account).
You can top up your wallet in KRW through your overseas bank account.

Where can I collect my card?arrow

You can collect your physical card by issuing a card voucher in the ToKpay app
and picking it up at one of the following CU convenience stores:
Incheon Airport Terminal 1 (Store #4), Terminal 2 (Store #2), Myeong-dong Station, or Hongdae Sangsang Branch.

Can I have more than one card?arrow

No, only one card per person is allowed.
Each wallet can be linked to one card only.

How can I top up my wallet?arrow

Sign up for the ToKpay app, then top up your wallet in KRW using your overseas bank account.
You can start using the card immediately after the top-up.

What is the top-up limit?arrow

The top-up limit is KRW 500,000 per transaction.
You can top up up to 20 times a day (a total of KRW 10,000,000).

Where can I check my top-up amount?arrow

You can check your balance on the home screen or in the “Wallet” section of the ToKpay app.

Is there a top-up fee?arrow

Yes. Exchange fees may vary by country and bank when topping up your wallet.

Can I use the card immediately after topping up?arrow

Yes, once your wallet is topped up, you can use it right away.

Where can I use the card?arrow

You can use it at any offline store in Korea that has a card payment terminal.

Can I make online payments?arrow

No, ToKpay is currently available for offline payments only.

Can I use it as a transportation card?arrow

Yes, it can be used for public transportation such as subways, buses, express buses, KTX, and taxis.

Can I use the card overseas?arrow

Currently, ToKpay can only be used in Korea. (Visa and Mastercard partnerships are planned.)

Is there any payment fee?arrow

There are no payment fees for card usage.
Fees apply only to top-up and refund transactions.

Can I make payments with a QR code or barcode instead of the physical card?arrow

Yes. You can make mobile payments using a barcode even without a physical card.
Tap the “Payment” button on the wallet screen to generate a barcode for payment.
Note: A valid barcode is issued only if you have a top-up history of KRW 10,000 or more.

Can I get a refund of my remaining balance?arrow

Yes. Refunds are available anytime if your remaining balance is KRW 10,000 or more.
(A KRW 5,000 refund fee applies per request.)

How do I request a refund?arrow

Refunds can be requested online only through the ToKpay app.

Are there any refund fees?arrow

Yes. There are two types of fees:
an FX conversion fee and a KRW 5,000 processing fee per refund.

What happens to my balance after the card expires?arrow

Even after expiration, 90% of the remaining balance can be refunded.
However, if more than 5 years have passed since the last top-up (statutory expiration),
your legal right to claim a refund may expire.

I lost my card. What should I do?arrow

Immediately open the ToKpay app to deactivate your card or report it as lost.
[To deactivate] More → Card Management → Turn off “Card Activation”
[To report loss] More → Card Management → “Report Lost/Damaged Card” → Enter Pattern

Is my balance protected?arrow

Yes. Once you report the loss or theft, your balance is protected.
You can continue using your remaining balance by linking a new card.

Can I report a loss without knowing my card number?arrow

Yes. Contact the Customer Center at 1877-0646.
You can report the loss and suspend your card after verifying your identity with your passport information.

Why do you collect passport information?arrow

Passport information is required to prevent identity theft or unauthorized use,
ensure secure payments, and apply the foreign visitor top-up limit (up to KRW 1,000,000).
Your information is encrypted and securely stored, and will never be used for advertising or marketing purposes.
Passport data is retained for 5 years and then permanently deleted.
For users inactive for over one year, passport information is stored separately for security purposes.

What is the card’s validity period?arrow

Each card is valid for 5 years from the date of issuance.
Please check the expiry date printed on the back of your card.

What if my card is damaged?arrow

You can request a replacement card (a KRW 5,000 reissuance fee may apply).
New cards can be obtained at the following CU convenience stores (price: KRW 0):
Incheon Airport Terminal 1 (Store #4), Terminal 2 (Store #2), Myeong-dong Station, and Hongdae Sangsang Branch.

Where can I check my transaction history?arrow

You can check your payment details (amount, merchant name, etc.) in the ToKpay app under ”Transaction History.”
